Review of AWS Certified SAA Exam (Dump usage prohibited)

The AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA) certification is a popular credential offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) for professionals who design and deploy scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on the AWS platform. This certification is designed to validate an individual's expertise in AWS architecture, including various AWS services, architecture best practices, and basic knowledge of application development and security practices on AWS. The SAA certification is intended for individuals with at least one year of hands-on experience in designing and deploying scalable and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.

[Reason for Taking the Exam]

I attended an AWS meeting and learned that taking the SAA (AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate) exam would be advantageous. Later, a colleague sent me a dump file they found online, which I thought would make it easy for me to pass the exam. So, I prepared for the exam accordingly.

[My Theoretical Knowledge]

With 7 years of development experience and a bachelor's degree in management, I specialize in services like databases and message queues, such as Kafka. I have been using AWS for about 2 years and have designed and developed smart factory architecture. My work mainly involves real-time data processing.

[Study Method]

Although I initially intended to use the dump file for my exam preparation, I found that only about 10% of the questions on the actual exam came from the dump. Therefore, I recommend studying in a proper manner. For reference, I memorized all 659 answers in the dump file, but only about 6 questions came out on the actual exam.

However, I passed the exam unexpectedly because I created an error note where I organized the questions I got wrong. The error note consisted of about 13 chapters, where I organized my mistakes rather than just memorizing them from the dump. Through this process, I naturally adapted to the types of questions on the exam and incidentally memorized all the questions and answers from the dump.

For those who have no knowledge of AWS, I recommend studying it thoroughly from the basics. AWS services use a lot of their own terminology, which can be confusing for beginners. If you don't understand what they are talking about, it can be challenging to study and solve problems.

For those who already have knowledge of AWS, I recommend solving the dumps from beginning to end to identify consistent mistakes and weaknesses. In my case, my weaknesses were mainly related to permissions and networks, so I created an error note focused on those problems and studied them extensively.

[The Frustrating Aspects of Studying with Dumps]

Firstly, the dump questions can make you wonder if the answers are correct or incorrect, creating confusion. Even for the same question, the dump often had different answers displayed, making it difficult to determine the correct answer.

Secondly, the psychological anxiety associated with relying on dumps can be frustrating. Although I prepared for the exam with more passion than usual certifications, I still lacked confidence during the actual exam. This is because I was anxious about what if the dump doesn't come out, which eventually happened to me during the exam.

So, while dumps can be useful for studying, it's crucial to study properly and avoid relying on them too much.

After the exam is completed, you can immediately check your results. The loading screen will show either "Pass" or "Fail" at the end.
